Hello,

I'm building a tenor uke, the first one from scratch for me. I've built a couple of the SM uke kits.

I searched here and it seems about 50 / 50 in favor or radius the top or flat. I put a 30' radius on the rims and glued the waist and fan braces on after radiused to 30'. I glued them up in a radius dish / go bar just like I use on guitar.

Question: When building a guitar I've put the upper transverse brace on flat to try to avoid a gap at the fretboard extension. Do the same for the Uke? It seems like it would be the same, but I'm curious if others do the same?

Thanks!
Brad

I use an upper transverse brace on my ukes. I make it the same size as the lower transverse

I radius mine to 30 ft also. The Uke is so small you can barely see the radius, I do not remember any problem fitting the neck/FB. May be a little sanding to get the area under the FB flat. Assuming you extend the FB to the sound hole.

Thanks. I went ahead and glued it on flat for this one, let's see how it goes. :)

Thanks!
Brad
